Virgin Mary Eternal Bloom Eyeglass Case

Russia is long renowned for its famed miniature lacquer boxes decorated with icons, religious subjects and or their famous fairytales.

This box has been specially constructed of a sturdy resin (with the look of a finely made lacquered box) and lined to safely hold eyeglasses or any other use you think of. The boxes are either black or dark blue; the bottom and some sides have a random design in a coordinating color. Please note, this random design is not visible when the box is displayed.

The box has a decoupage Byzantine Cross ornamentation framing a traditional icon. The artisans then add a "hand painted" ornamental boarder as found on the finest lacquer boxes.

ICON - "MARY THE ETERNAL (Unfading) BLOOM."

• The three lilies in Mary's right hand symbolize the Trinity - This is one of the most beloved icons of the Theotokos in both Eastern and Western Christianity. It reveals to use the essence of our faith – in the Holy Trinity, Christ in His human form and his beloved Mother. Mary as the Theotokos birth giver of God she is also referred to as the Eternal Bloom. Christ is the perfect man, he is the perfect bloom.
• Mary through her womb bore Christ – the first born Eternal One the Son of God - so is Mary eternal through Christ her Son.
